Nia Malika Dixon

Founder

Nia Malika Dixon is an award winning filmmaker on a mission to amplify diverse stories from underrepresented communities authentically in Hollywood, especially the voices of Black Muslim women. With over 15 years in the film industry, the Baltimore native hones her craft as the founder of Audaz Entertainment, where she writes, directs and produces content for television, film and digital platforms, specifically highlighting stories representing Black Muslim women and girls. Under Audaz Entertainment, Dixon has released several projects, including short films Shattered Lenses, #BlackMuslimGirlFly: A Butterfly Amidst Iniquity and Temporary Loss of Power. Dixon creates work to cultivate deeper cultural understanding and connections in our local and global communities.

 

Amalia Santa Maria

Executive Assistant

Amalia Santa Maria is a native Colombian filmmaker and assistant festival director. As a filmmaker she’s had the opportunity to work on several international projects including Discovery Channel’s “Naked and Afraid XL”. As an assistant director her work has mainly been in features such as “The Errand Boy.” As a member of Audaz, she’s a valuable asset to the team.

Khalilah Muhammad

Social Media Manager

Khalilah Muhammad is a Black (Indigenous American) Muslim woman who was born and raised in Baltimore. While her degree is in Computer Networking, she has found that she instead has an affinity for connecting people through social media and events. Khalilah also has a love of the cinematic arts from all angles, as she has been on sets as an actress, 1st Assistant Director, and script writer. She also indulges in modeling whenever motherhood and life permit. Khalilah is happy to have the opportunity to explore and build on her passion for reaching the people while propelling the Audaz Entertainment team forward.

Salihah Clayton

Executive Assistant, Social Media

Salihah Clayton is a writer, and assists during all stages of production from development to post. She has worked on “Vengeful,” Shattered Lenses, Love Supreme, and is currently working with Nia to develop Audaz Entertainment’s upcoming supernatural thriller to be shot in Arizona. Salihah manages social media for BlackMuslimGirlFly, and assists pre-production for the BMGFly Festival 2020.

Qiyamah Saleem

Assistant Festival Director

Qiyamah has spent the last 4 years as a Creative Director for minority-owned businesses. Her mission is to use digital mediums as a playground to encourage growth and meaningful storytelling. Qiyamah has also devoted much of her time with nonprofits such as The National Council Of Negro Women and Project Future Inc. She is currently working on community projects focusing on uplifting Black women and other underrepresented women.

Ilanah Naamah

Production Assistant

A professionally trained dancer and actress, Ilanah moved to the production side of film after studying Psychology and Drama at The New School in New York City. Since returning to Los Angeles she has worked on the sets of Top Chef, Love Island and new Apple TV content, to name a few. Equipt with a great desire to skillfully lend herself to any part of the industry she is called to, Ilanah is an integral member of the Audaz Entertainment team. She aims to use her talents to produce, and bring to life exceptional works of Black creatives.

Nurah Abdullah

Executive Director of Outreach

After studying film and television production at Howard University she returned to Los Angeles to create film and television. Nurah works diligently to help bring creative visions to life. As a valuable member of the Islah Muslim community, she works as the BMGFly Film Festival Director of Outreach. Along with that she works on set, most recently as 2nd AD on Shattered Lenses. In preparation for the BMGFly Film Festival 2020, she serves as our volunteer director, supporting with community engagement and event-volunteer recruitment.
