BlackMuslimGirlFly - A Butterfly Amidst Iniquity

In an experimental short documentary, Nia Malika Dixon, a Black Muslim woman, chronicles two brief stories. Sumiyah and Priscilla, two very different Muslim women from Los Angeles, share what it’s like to be a Black Muslim woman in America. They both attend the Los Angeles Black Iftar 2018, a special gathering to break the fast during the holy month of Ramadan. Cafe Hot and Cool, a Black Muslim owned Cafe, serves as the beautiful backdrop for the unique event, with a performance by spoken word artist, Nikki Blak.
